Atom Rhumba, rock 'n' roll en Bilbao

Mucho hablamos de San Sebastián y de los grupos que representan el llamado "donosti sound", en general pop elegante y preciosista.

Sin embargo no nos olvidemos de nuestras raíces y reivindiquemos que también en Bilbao hay buenos grupos, como por ejemplo Atom Rhumba.

Rober!, Natxo Beltrán, Javi y Alvaro Segovia forman un grupo ya veterano que con tres discos en su haber ("Hormonal riot" 1997, "Dirt shots" 1999, "Chasin’ the Onagro" 2000), publicaron en agosto del año pasado el mejor LP de sus nueve años de carrera musical, "BlackBone Ritmo".

El sonido que presenta Atom Rumba es tan diferente a La Buena Vida (por ejemplo), como lo pueden ser Bilbao y Donosti, es decir, más fuerte, descarnado, sucio, ruidista y guitarrero; o lo que es lo mismo, puro rock 'n' roll frente a pop amable.

Después de haber participado en dos de los mejores festivales que se celebran en España, Festimad y Primavera Sound, mañana jueves tocan de nuevo en Madrid, presentando el Askena Rock Festival en la Sala Aqualung junto Diamond Dogs.

El próximo 14 de julio serán los teloneros de David Bowie en el concierto que el artista británico ofrecerá en la Plaza de toros de Bilbao y aunque suene a broma o por lo menos a bilbainada, parece que se confirma que Atom Rumba actuará en el festival Fujirock en Niigata (Japón), compartiendo de nuevo escenario con Pixies, Pj Harvey o Jet.

El Fujirock completa el cartel con gente de la talla de Lou Reed, Chemical Brothers, White Stripes, Courtney Love, Belle and Sebastián, Basement Jaxx, Ash, Mum, The Libertines, !!!, Franz Ferninand, Dizzee Rascal o The Vines. Además, no serán los únicos vascos que actúen, Fermín Muguruza también ha sido invitado a este megafestival japonés, esperemos que Niigata no tenga gobierno municipal del PP porque la celebración del Fuji Rock peligraría.

Esto es un cartel y no lo del FIB (no lo digo por Fermín Muguruza que a mí ni fu ni fa).
