Llegas a un pais extranjero donde tendras que manejarte en ingles. No hay problema. Llevas agnos estudiando el idioma, conoces la gramatica, una cantidad de vocabulario aceptable, incluso algun que otro giro que te permita lucirte. Lo has utilizado de forma escrita y has escuchado y entendido alguna que otra pelicula. Entonces, por que cada vez que abres la boca suenas como un indio apache?
La cuestion es que sabes ingles, pero no piensas en ingles. Tus estructuras mentales llevan casi treinta agnos trabajando en castellano asi que cuando intentas expresar una idea, la traduces de tu lengua nativa. Es el ultimo obstaculo que hay que salvar y la unica forma de hacerlo es practicando.
Quiere eso decir que esta todo perdido? Que deberiamos empezar a disparar sobre esa suerte de estafadores llamados profesores de ingles? En absoluto, porque en realidad no necesitas hablar como Shakespeare.
A veces, la persona con la que conversas no te dejara terminar la frase, ya sabra lo que vas a decir. A lo mejor, en ese momento, no te acuerdas de como era esa palabra, o sencillamente no lo sabes, pero puedes buscar un desvio. Como ultimo recurso, no te cortes, recurre a las segnas.
Sobre todo no te agobies. Las personas de la calle no pronuncian como si fueran presentadores de noticias de la BBC, menos aun si son tan extranjeros como tu.
